How autism coaching & counseling work

A clear process.
Built around you.

You bring a problem from real life. Our team helps you understand the pattern, decide whether coaching, counseling, or both fit the need, and build practical next steps.

01

Start with a free 20-minute conversation.

Explain what is not working, who you are reaching out for, and what you hope will be different. You do not need a polished summary or a formal autism diagnosis. Our team will answer practical questions and help determine whether the fit makes sense.

02

Choose a clear coaching target.

We narrow the work to something useful: starting assignments, managing a transition, reducing conflict, preparing for a conversation, rebuilding a routine, understanding shutdown, making work sustainable, or moving toward greater independence.

03

Map what is actually happening.

Instead of stopping at “try harder,” we examine the sequence. What happens before the problem? What is unclear? What drains capacity? Which sensory, cognitive, emotional, relational, or environmental factors make the task harder than it appears?

04

Build a small, usable plan.

The plan needs to work outside the session. That may include a written script, fewer steps, a visual routine, changed timing, an environmental adjustment, a recovery plan, a decision rule, or one specific skill to practice.

05

Review the real result.

At the next session, we look at what happened without turning difficulty into a character verdict. If the system helped, we strengthen it. If it failed, we identify why and redesign it.

Two kinds of support. One coherent process.

Some sessions are highly practical: clarify the problem, build a system, practice a skill, and test it during the week. Others need more room for grief, shame, anxiety, painful history, relationship injury, faith, or the emotional impact of diagnosis.

Madison can shift the pace and depth without abandoning practical goals. Coaching and counseling work together around the person rather than forcing every need into one box.
